Frequently asked questions
How do I use the Qibla compass?
Tap “Find Qibla”, allow location access, then hold your phone flat. On phones with a compass the dial turns so the Kaaba marker points to the Qibla. Keep away from metal objects and magnets.
Is the Qibla direction exact?
The bearing is calculated along the great circle from your coordinates to the Kaaba (21.4225°N, 39.8262°E). Phone compasses can be off by a few degrees, so calibrate by moving your phone in a figure-eight.
What if my phone has no compass?
Use the bearing in degrees with any compass, or line yourself up using the sun: the dial shows the direction relative to true north.
